This is an excellent water bottle for backpacking as it is lighter than most stainless steel bottles, and the water stays fresh compared to plastic alternatives. The 1/8th turn lid with loop allows for quick release and securing while hydrating on the move. The orifice diameter is excellent for rapid hydration but not awkwardly large as a wide mouth bottle would be. It is very gratifying to drink from this bottle while in the field during intense activity. I way prefer this to nursing on a hose from a water bag with tainted flavors and slow assimilation. The tapered shape allows for a secure and comfortable grip.
